One of the best ways to keep your self going for the long distance is to fuel during the running! I’ve included a list of gels and food that I use during my runs. Everyone is different and you may have to try and experiment with different brands/flavors for what is best for you.

We recently started using Spring Energy and quite impressed with the gels so far. I appreciate the higher calorie count which keeps you going for a little longer than your typical gel. The best flavor is Awesome Sauce! It’s like eating apple sauce. One of the main selling point for Spring Energy Gels is that it is real food in the gels. A few options are even vegan friendly.
My wife and I used Tailwind primarily has a recover fuel however I may start using it during longer races. The more research I do I’m finding that it’s an excellent choice to include in your longer runs. The additional protein is beneficial for muscles.

These are fantastic for pre runs and during longer runs. They contain simple and complex sugars that your body needs for fueling. My personal favorite are the Froot Loops flavor!
GU energy blocks and chews are terrific way to get an extra little boost of energy while running. The blocks and chews are easy to chew and don’t upset the stomach since it’s not as strong.
